The Brussels-based European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) has unveiled a dedicated website designed to act as a single access point for resources, event listings and player support information ahead of European Safer Gambling Week, scheduled for 17-23 November 2025.

The site consolidates practical tools aimed at both consumers and industry partners. Key features include a multilingual directory of national helplines and self-exclusion schemes across Europe, an evolving calendar of conferences and webinars during the week, and an accessible guidance section with tips to recognise risky play and maintain control.

In its announcement, EGBA said the new platform is intended to broaden reach and streamline participation for the initiative, which the association launched in 2021 to foster cross-sector co-operation on player protection. Last year’s campaign involved 195 organisations across 26 countries and, EGBA reports, reached more than 3.1 million people through coordinated social media activity and live events.

“This website centralises the materials and support pathways people need to make safer choices and to find confidential help in their own language”, said EGBA secretary-general in a statement. “By bringing helplines, educational content and event registration into one place, we want to lower barriers to participation for operators, regulators, charities and players alike.”

The platform emphasises local accessibility: helpline listings include national contact options and details of recognised self-exclusion systems, enabling users to locate immediate support without navigating multiple organisation sites. EGBA said campaign assets will be available in 27 languages to encourage wide uptake across member states.

How Stakeholders Can Take Part

EGBA is inviting a broad spectrum of stakeholders – operators licensed in the EU, national regulators, treatment and support organisations, trade associations, and technology providers – to join ESGW25. Registration for webinars and workshops is handled through the new site, which will be regularly updated as partners confirm events and speaking programmes.

An independent gambling researcher noted the value of coordinated, multilingual outreach. “Harmonised messaging across countries helps to normalise seeking help and improves the chances that people who need support will recognise and use the services available locally”, the researcher said. “A central hub that links to verified helplines and self-exclusion mechanisms can reduce confusion during a moment of need.”

Regulatory interest in safer gambling has risen in recent years, led by bodies including the UK Gambling Commission, Spelinspektionen in Sweden, and other national authorities in Spain and Italy that have increased oversight and consumer-protection measures. EGBA has framed the website as a complement to those regulatory efforts by promoting best-practice messages developed with stakeholders across the sector.

Organisations that took part in last year’s campaign cited social media toolkits, shared educational events and cross-sector coordination as effective elements. EGBA has said campaign materials will be available to download in multiple languages to enable localised activity and ensure consistent messaging across platforms.

Beyond the week itself, EGBA envisages the site serving as an ongoing reference point for safer-gambling guidance and a repository for case studies, research summaries and post-event materials. The association said it will continue to update the hub with new events and partner contributions in the run-up to November.

For operators and public bodies, the platform offers a single view of scheduled activities and a practical way to coordinate campaigns. For players, the immediate benefit is easier access to confidential support and straightforward guidance on managing play and spotting warning signs.

As regulators and industry groups prepare for ESGW25, the new website represents a push towards more integrated, multilingual outreach on safer gambling – a development EGBA hopes will encourage stronger cross-border collaboration and more visible, consistent consumer protection across Europe.
