Jette Nygaard-Andersen Appointed as Entain CEO

Entain (LON: ENT), the global gaming operator listed on the London stock market, has announced that Jette Nygaard-Andersen has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer. Nygaard-Andersen has taken on the role with immediate effect and Shay Segev, the former CEO, will be remaining at the company until July to ensure that the transition goes smoothly.

Nygaard-Andersen was appointed to Entain’s board in December 2019 as a non-executive director. In the past, she has served as executive vice president of Modern Times Group, a Swedish digital entertainment company, and chief executive of its MTGx Digital Video Content division.

Entain has also announced that Chief Financial Officer Rob Wood shall be taking on the additional role of co-CEO and will be responsible for retail operations and M&A activities. Furthermore, Chief Operating Officer Sandeep Tiku will be joining the board later this year.

Barry Gibson, Entain’s chair, described the company as “extremely fortunate” to have Nygaard-Andersen available to take on the role and said that she shares the company’s ambition to become the world leader in sports betting and gaming entertainment.

Furthermore, he added that both he and Nygaard-Andersen have been “immensely impressed” by Rob Wood and that his new responsibilities will enable him to “further develop his operational skills as well as overseeing a key tenet of our growth ambitions through M&A”.

In regards to the appointment of Tiku to the Board, Gibson said that it “not only reflects his contribution to the success of Entain but is also aligned with our aim to have a broader range of experiences and inputs on the Board.”
