Hellenic Gaming Commission Grants License to Kalamba Games
The Hellenic Gaming Commission (HGC) has granted a supplier license to Kalamba Games, making it the latest developer to receive a license since Greece introduced new laws. The license means that Kalamba Games will be able to distribute 15 games to local Greek gaming operators.
Thanks to this, players in Greece will soon be able to enjoy some of Kalamba Games’ most popular titles including Ducks till Dawn, Griffin’s Quest, Blazing Bull, and a number of titles from the Joker series.
The company has been working hard to receive certification in regulated markets in recent months. Before the Greek license, it was awarded licenses in Croatia, Spain and Italy.
It’s always a notable achievement to enter into new territories and adds to the increasing number of regulated markets that Kalamba now serves directly. Bullseye, our legacy-free RGS platform is strategically key in meeting the ever-increasing regulatory requirements across multiple geographies. Supporting our partners with rapid, cost effective development and efficient deployment of unique content to regulated markets is the cornerstone of Kalamba’s Bullseye technology platform.
The Hellenic Gaming Commission began accepting license applications in October 2020 after the country passed new laws in October 2019. The laws allowed for the creation of two licensing options, one for online betting and one for offering games of chance.
The laws also authorized the use of Random Number Generator games. However, this only came about after a threat of legal action against an earlier version of the laws that would have prohibited RNG games.
Recent months has seen Greece award licenses to numerous developers and operators including NetBet, Aspire Global’s Pariplay, GoldenRace and Betsson.
