Playtech's Integration of Affordability UK Helps Operators Meet Regulatory Requirements
Playtech has announced that it will be integrating the Affordability UK solution into its leading IMS platform as part of its efforts to help operators meet regulatory requirements.
TruNarrative, an eKYC (Know Your Customer) and fraud detection specialist, is behind Affordability UK, and the latest move is an extension of the already existent partnership between the two companies. The new integration will help extend Playtech’s player verification and on-boarding services.
The technology is able to identify customers who are spending more on gambling than they can afford. The insights provided by integrating Affordability UK together with the other features of the TruNarrative platform will give Playtech casinos a number of powerful options. For example, they will be able to create customized tools and create thresholds around individual players’ affordability data, transactions and behavior. They will be able to automate decisions and also carryout manual investigations based upon up-to-date data. The tools will also allow them to use one interface to track a player’s gambling behavior across multiple brands.
Speaking of the new deal, the Chief Compliance Officer at Playtech, Ian Ince, said that as gambling restrictions become more stringent, Playtech wishes to make sure that they can provide operators with the tools needed to meet the requirements and protect players. He said that “TruNarrative’s specialist safer gambling services have quickly made them a core partner for Playtech – and now, with Affordability UK, we can offer a sophisticated, market-leading solution, backed by some of the most comprehensive data available.” He added that the integration with Playtech’s IMS would provide operators with a “seamless experience.”
The CEO of TruNarrative, John Lord, said that through the partnership with Playtech, TruNarrative has been able to provide their customer with a “vast array” of specialist services and that they are “delighted to be adding Affordability UK.”
Affordability UK offers unique insight into a player’s ability to afford their bets, as well minimizing the requirement for physical payslips and document submissions, creating a low-friction experience.
He added that they are “confident it will become a vital part of any operator’s toolset in their drive to meet and exceed UKGC expectations around safer gambling.”
