107 Arrested in Cambodia Casino Raid Linked to Online Crime
SVAY RIENG, Cambodia – Cambodian authorities have arrested 107 foreign nationals following a large-scale raid on a casino in Svay Rieng province.

Police carried out the raid at the Shanghai Resort Casino Company in Chantrea District after receiving intelligence pointing to online-related offences. The action was conducted under the direction of Prime Minister Hun Manet and supervised by senior interior and national police officials.
The raid also comes amid heightened international scrutiny of Cambodia’s casino sector. A recent Amnesty International investigation into casino-linked scamming compounds highlighted concerns over trafficking, forced labour and abuse tied to some casino properties, adding pressure on authorities to intensify enforcement actions.
Devices Seized and Suspects Identified
During the operation, officers seized a large volume of electronic equipment believed to be connected to the suspected activities. Authorities reported confiscating 89 desktop computers, 57 laptops, 73 tablets and more than 1,400 mobile phones.
Those detained included 67 Chinese nationals, 21 Indonesians, 17 Vietnamese citizens and two individuals from Myanmar. Police said the mix of nationalities reflects the cross-border nature of the suspected operations.
Initial findings suggest that some of the individuals were involved in online gambling activity, including operations linked to a platform identified as Baby Slot, while others are being investigated for online fraud.

Legal Action and Ongoing Investigation
Six individuals have been singled out in the early stages of the investigation. Four suspects have already been charged and transferred to the Svay Rieng Provincial Court, while two others remain in police custody for further questioning.
The remaining 101 detainees have been handed over to Cambodia’s General Department of Immigration as authorities continue to assess their involvement and determine next steps.
Officials described the raid as part of a broader effort to address online crime and illegal gambling activity operating through casino-linked environments. The investigation remains ongoing, with further charges possible as authorities examine the seized devices and digital evidence.
