Durango Adds High‑Limit Slot Room and 2,000‑Space Garage
Durango has opened a new high‑limit slot room and a multilevel parking garage as it expands just over two years after debuting in southwest Las Vegas.
LISTEN TO THIS ARTICLE:Station Casinos unveiled an 8,000‑plus square‑foot high‑limit gaming and lounge area on Monday, featuring 120 dedicated high‑limit slot machines and 30 titles new to the property. The room pairs plush seating and purse stools with a 60‑foot chandelier, mappa burl wood paneling and Venetian plaster finishes that the resort says aim to attract both local regulars and visitors.
Games include Aristocrat Gaming’s Dragon Link linked progressive, a perennial high‑payout draw for Asian‑themed players, with top jackpots that range from roughly $50,000 up to $1 million depending on wager levels. New arrivals in the space include Arctic Express, Super Hot Flaming Pots and Wolf Run Wild Moon. The bar area contains 16 multigame bartop units to provide additional wagering options.
Durango’s high‑limit offering includes dedicated service features: a full‑time hospitality butler, guest service attendants assigned to the room, two private restrooms and an on‑site high‑limit cage. Station Casinos has rolled out “MyPay”, a paperless cashout system designed to accelerate payouts for players who prefer digital settlement.
David Horn, vice president and general manager at Durango, highlighted the design choices that informed the new space. “It is beautiful, and I think it’s going to blow people away”, Horn said. He pointed to the wood paneling and the chandelier as focal elements intended to create a refined, comfortable environment while retaining the energy of the casino floor.

The expansion comes, as announced last month, as Durango – part of Station Casinos’ portfolio of locals‑oriented resorts – continues to grow its profile in the west Las Vegas market. The property’s 15‑story hotel tower with 209 rooms sits above an 83,178‑square‑foot casino footprint and is located on South Durango Drive. Since opening just over two years ago, Durango has rapidly become one of the company’s more popular locations among the suburban Las Vegas circuit.
On the same day the high‑limit room opened, the resort also activated a new multilevel parking garage with approximately 2,000 spaces. The structure incorporates modern wayfinding technology, including parking‑space availability indicators that use green lights to mark open spots. As with other Station properties, complimentary parking remains a selling point for guests.
Station Casinos is positioning the Durango upgrades to capture higher‑spend customers without alienating its base of neighborhood players. The combination of premium machines, private amenities and faster cashout options reflects a broader trend across Las Vegas resorts to offer layered experiences – separate, quieter spaces for high rollers while keeping the main casinos accessible for casual guests.
Industry observers note that high‑limit rooms have regained attention from operators seeking to diversify revenue streams after the recovery from the pandemic. By adding a sizeable, well‑appointed high‑limit area and improving parking throughput, Durango is aiming to boost occupancy and length of stay, as well as attract regional players who expect elevated service and quicker transaction options.
Station Casinos has not announced additional expansions at Durango, but the company has been active in renovating and extending amenities across its portfolio in recent years to better compete with Strip resorts and nearby locals casinos. The new high‑limit room and parking garage are the latest steps in that effort.
