Ed Davis CBE Becomes Chair of Entain Foundation
The sports betting and gaming group Entain (LON: ENT) has announced the appointment of Ed Davis CB, CBE and Franziska van Almsick to the company’s charitable trust, the Entain Foundation. Davis has become the Independent Chair and van Almsick is to take on an ambassadorial role in Germany.
The Entain Global Foundation was launched in November 2019 to support the company’s ESG initiatives and donations. It is now in the process of formalizing the Entain Foundation’s structure as a registered charitable trust.
Ed Davis brings with him a huge amount of international and charitable experience. Most recently, from 2016 to 2020, he served as the Governor and Commander-in-Chief of Gibraltar. Meanwhile, Franziska van Almsick is a ten-time Olympic medalist and former world and European champion swimmer.
Entain has committed to spending £100 million through the Entain Foundation over five years to support causes such as responsible gambling, research into sports integrity and betting, education, treatment, diversity, disability in sport, and projects linked to the local community.

Franziska van Almsick called her role a “great opportunity” to support the foundation’s work and said that she has been impressed with Entain’s commitment to “to invest back in to grass roots sport and the wider community.”
The CEO of Entain, Jette Nygaard-Andersen, welcomed the two appointments saying that together they bring “incredible leadership and organisational skills as well as huge experience in the charitable sector and sporting world.”
