IGT's Global Lottery Business Changes Name to Brightstar
International Game Technology (IGT) announced on Tuesday that its global lottery business will now operate under a new name, Brightstar Lottery. The rebranding marks a significant step in the company's transition as it prepares to become a standalone entity focused solely on the lottery sector.

The transaction, which includes IGT's gaming and digital operations, is expected to close as early as July 1. Once finalized, Brightstar will emerge as a pure play lottery business, entirely separate from the gaming and digital segments previously managed under the IGT umbrella.
The change is effective immediately and comes in anticipation of the completion of the sale of IGT's gaming and digital business to Voyager Parent, a company controlled by affiliates of Apollo Global Management. The move positions the newly named entity to concentrate all its resources and strategic vision on the global lottery industry, where it has maintained a strong and consistent presence for nearly five decades.
Brightstar CEO Vince Sadusky emphasized the company's long-standing reputation for reliability and innovation in the lottery space. He stated that the launch of Brightstar represents a continuation of this legacy, with a renewed focus on helping lottery clients adapt to evolving market dynamics, including digital transformation, shifting consumer expectations, and a broader array of gaming options available to players.

The new Brightstar branding is designed to reflect the company's role as a forward-thinking leader in the global lottery industry. It aims to convey a sense of guidance and innovation, serving as a source of support and inspiration for both lottery operators and players. Under its new name, Brightstar will build upon IGT's established presence in the lottery industry. The company will remain active across the entire lottery value chain, offering services such as lottery operations, retail and digital systems and technology, full-service instant ticket offerings, and game development.
