Michigan Regulator Cracks Down on 15 Illegal Online Casinos

In a major enforcement action, 15 online gambling operators have been told to stop offering casino-style games to Michigan residents. In the cease-and-desist letters issued to them by the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB), the platforms were notified that their actions contravene the state’s laws governing internet gaming and penal code, including the Lawful Internet Gaming Act and Gaming Control and Revenue Act.

The 15 operators include 7 Bit Casino, Avia Games Inc., Grande Vegas Casino, High Country Casino, i Net Bet, Liberty Slots Casino, Lincoln Casino, Lucky Hippo Casino, Miami Club Casino, PrimaPlay Casino, Slot Madness, Slots Plus Casino, Sun Palace Casino, Vegas Casino Online, and Vegas2Web Casino. These sites were found to be operating without a license, posing risks to player safety, while also depriving the state of potential tax revenue.

These unlawful operators try to present themselves as legitimate entertainment options, but they offer zero player protections, no accountability and a real risk to consumers. Our message is simple: If you want to offer gambling in Michigan, follow the law or we will stop you. We will continue to work aggressively to keep illegal gambling out of our state.

The MGCB warns that failure to adhere to the cease-and-desist orders may lead to further enforcement actions, including legal proceedings, in partnership with the Michigan Department of Attorney General.

Continued Crackdown

The MGCB has been consistent in its crackdown against unlicensed gaming operators. It seems that every month, the regulator is always sending warnings to those operating outside of state regulations. In March 2025, it issued cease-and-desist letters to more than five casino operators. In April, 11 offshore websites were targeted.

In July, the board took its largest enforcement action to date, sending 19 cease notices to online gambling operators.
