New Player Integrates Live Streams and Mobile Betting

The Kindred Group (STO: KIND-SDB) is giving live betting a boost with the launch of its new bet-overlay live streaming player. Using the new Watch&Bet player, punters at Unibet will be able to bet on live sports from their mobile devices without having to leave the action.

The new player is initially available on the iOS sports app, and the new feature will enable Unibet customers to place bets quickly while watching the live streams, which for the first time will have a live-odds overlay.

Watch&Bet has been launched in Europe and is currently available for the two sports where live betting is most popular - football and tennis. While it is currently only available on iOS, it will not be long before it comes to the Android app and mobile web browser.

The new feature is in keeping with the group’s “app-first” philosophy and is just one of many enhancements to the in-play experience that it has been making. Live sports betting is becoming an increasingly important growth area for the industry as a whole, and the new feature is set to give Unibet an edge over rival bookmakers.

Erik Bäcklund Kindred Group Chief Product Officer

The new streaming player will take the customer experience to a whole new level. Easily explained with three words – Fast, Easy and Fun. Fast, because it enables our customers to see the action and react to it instantly. Easy, because the design is clever and intuitive. Fun, because this is a whole new way of enjoying the live sports watching and betting experience.

Erik BäcklundKindred Group Chief Product Officer

Bäcklund explained that customer feedback together with internal workshops resulted in a “grand vision” of how the in-play betting experience can be improved. He said that the Watch&Bet player is an important step along the way but added that it is just a foundation to which many more features will be added.

Each year, Unibet brings its customers access to over 85,000 live streamed sports events and 100,000 racing events.
