Pennsylvania Gaming Revenue Climbs 14.6% in February to $547.1M
HARRISBURG, Pa. – Pennsylvania’s casinos and online platforms generated $547.1 million in gaming revenue in February, up 14.6% from a year earlier.
The results strengthen the state’s position as a major U.S. gaming market, with online play continuing to drive growth for operators.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board report showed that iGaming produced $239.9 million in February, up 15.5% year over year, while slot machine revenue totaled $192.1 million, a more modest rise of 3.1%. Sports betting accounted for $37.8 million in revenue from a February handle of $592.4 million.
The February performance builds on momentum seen earlier in the year, following January results where iGaming growth drove an 11.6% increase in statewide revenue.
At the property level, Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course in Grantville led all Pennsylvania operators with $106.8 million in total revenue, an increase of 19.3% compared with February last year. Valley Forge Casino Resort in King of Prussia reported $93.7 million, up 15%, and Rivers Casino Philadelphia posted $56.1 million, an increase of 10.7%.
Slot revenues were topped by Parx Casino, which generated $29.4 million (up 1.6%). Wind Creek Bethlehem posted $21.71 million in slot receipts, rising 6.2%, while Rivers Casino Pittsburgh produced $20.9 million, up 2.4%.
Online gaming continues to be the main growth engine. Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course reported $92.7 million in iGaming revenue for February, a 19.4% gain. Valley Forge posted $64.0 million from its online channel (up roughly 13%), and Rivers Casino Philadelphia delivered $38.7 million, a 12.9% increase.
Sportsbook operators also saw notable activity. Valley Forge generated $18.1 million in sports betting revenue from a $192.9 million handle. Hollywood Casino at The Meadows recorded $9.7 million in revenue from a $180.8 million handle, while Hollywood Casino York converted a $50.0 million handle into $2.9 million in revenue. Collectively, the sports wagering segment remains a smaller but growing component of Pennsylvania’s gambling economy.
Industry analysts say the blend of channels helps explain the headline growth. "The February figures underline the continuing migration of wagering dollars to mobile platforms," said Alyssa Carter, senior analyst at Eilers & Krejcik Gaming. "iGaming growth is outpacing the brick-and-mortar recovery, and operators that have invested in user experience and localized promotions are reaping the benefits."

Regulatory Reaction and Market Outlook
Market watchers and regulators will track whether February’s gains herald a sustained rebound or reflect short-term factors such as event timing and promotional calendars. "While the headline growth is encouraging, the relatively slow expansion in slot revenue – up just 3.1% – shows that in-person visitation is still lagging online engagement", said Mike Romano, partner at Global Market Advisors. "The spring schedule, led by major sports seasons and regional events, will be a key test of whether operators can convert digital gains into improved on-property performance."
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board continues to monitor operator compliance and is likely to focus on consumer protections tied to the rapid expansion of online products. State-level dynamics – competition among retail casinos, cross-brand promotions from national operators, and evolving promotional spend – will shape revenue mixes over the rest of the year.
Looking ahead, analysts expect March and the broader spring sports calendar to lift both online and retail channels. However, sustaining double-digit statewide growth will depend on operators managing promotional intensity, optimizing product portfolios, and converting online customers into repeat, higher-value players. For the moment, February’s results reinforce Pennsylvania’s position as one of the nation’s largest and most diverse gaming markets, driven by an increasingly dominant iGaming segment and a still-resilient retail footprint.
