Safety Measures in Place for The Reopening of the Marina Bay Sands Casino
The Marina Bay Sands Casino in Singapore, which has been closed for two weeks, reopened on August 5th.
The casino announced that they have carried out a range of measures before the reopening date, which includes routine testing for all the staff who have any interaction with guests. All employees will be required to take swab tests which will range from every three to twenty-eight days, the time scale will depend on whether they have been double jabbed and the nature of their job.
As stated on the Marina Bay Sands Casino website, “The reopening comes at a time when vaccination rates among our staff have reached nearly 90 per cent.”
The casino was originally closed on July 22nd for deep cleaning after it was revealed that eleven Covid cases could be traced back to the venue. According to the health ministry, by the following Thursday, a cluster of sixty Covid cases had been identified.
The Marina Bay Sands Casino have taken other precautions such as spacing out gaming machines at a minimum distance of one metre apart and limiting the number of people in private rooms. It was also announced that smoking, eating and drinking at any part of the casino grounds is strictly off-limits. All surfaces will be thoroughly cleaned on a regular basis, and all casino staff who mix with customers will sanitize their hands before and after each shift.
The casino also made a point of stating that it is aware of websites that are claiming to be associated with MBS and, as such, are offering various gambling services.
