The Wyoming Gaming Commission has alerted residents and visitors to the growing presence of unauthorized online gaming sites and apps operating in the state.
In a warning issued on Thursday, the commission stressed that it does not regulate the gambling platforms and that their operations in the state are illegal.
According to the WGC, these platforms include online casinos, poker rooms, sweepstakes, and social sites that offer real money payouts.
It warned residents from engaging with the unlicensed online gaming sites, stating that it can not assist with disputes over winnings or account issues.
We want to make it unequivocally clear: no online casino, iGaming, or sweepstakes site is licensed by the Wyoming Gaming Commission, and they are all operating illegally in Wyoming. We strongly encourage everyone to avoid these websites, however, patrons who choose to engage with these unlicensed platforms do so at their own risk.
The regulator added that ensuring these platforms adhere to state laws is challenging because most are based outside of the United States. It promised to proactively target and shut down illegal gaming operations.

Wyoming’s Anti-Online Gambling Stance
Wyoming legalizes online sports betting and fantasy sports. However, online casino games like slots and table games remain off-limits in the jurisdiction.
Earlier this year, a bill was proposed in the House to legalize full-scale online casino gambling, including online poker.
House Bill 162 also aims to create a regulatory framework for online pari-mutuel wagering and introduce player pooling.
The legislation didn’t advance beyond the committee stage, indicating the state’s solid reluctance to expand online gaming.
