FanDuel Bans User Who Heckled Gabby Thomas at Track Event
The user who bragged about heckling Gabby Thomas at a track event to win a bet has been banned by FanDuel.

"I made Gabby lose by heckling her. And it made my parlay win." the gambler posted on his X account @mr100kaday. He also shared a video on social media, where he was caught on camera shouting insults at Thomas, "You a choke artist, Gabby" and "You going down, Gabby!", before her 100m race at a Grand Slam Track event in Philadelphia that Melissa Jefferson-Wooden won.
Next to the video, the bettor displayed his winning bet slip, showing a $1,696.97 profit on a $1,000 stake and an $827.11 win on a $200 four-way parlay, with all bets backing strong favorites.
However, FanDuel, the sportsbook that took the bets, has banned the user in response to the incident.
FanDuel condemns in the strongest terms abusive behavior directed towards athletes. Threatening or harassing athletes is unacceptable and has no place in sports. This customer is no longer able to wager with FanDuel.
Grand Slam Track has also announced a full-scale investigation into the incident, condemning the man's behavior as "reprehensible" and vowing to get to the bottom of the matter.
The Philadelphia sports venue said, "We are working to identify the individual involved and will take appropriate action as necessary. We will implement additional safeguards to help prevent incidents like this in the future. Let us be clear, despicable behavior like this will not be tolerated."

Athletes Targeted by Abusive Bettors
Sports stars have increasingly become targets of abuse and harassment from bettors, reflecting a growing problem in the sports betting industry.
In May, Lance McCullers Jr., Houston Astros pitcher, reported receiving death threats against his family on social media.
Houston Police tracked down the source of the abuse to an overseas bettor who claimed to have been intoxicated when sending the threatening messages. While the individual has since apologized, the police claim the case is still under investigation.
Boston Red Sox players Liam Hendriks and Jarren Duran have also been recently targeted by abusive fans and bettors.
According to an NCAA-commissioned study, angry sports bettors account for at least 12% of abusive social media posts directed at college athletes.
