GLI Integrates Bulletproof's ISS Assessments, Merging Cybersecurity and Compliance
Gaming Laboratories International has folded Bulletproof’s information system security assessment capabilities into its global compliance services, the company said.
The move, announced on Tuesday, brings Bulletproof’s cybersecurity assessment tools and methodologies into GLI’s worldwide testing, inspection and compliance network. GLI said the integration enables its teams to deliver information system security (ISS) services alongside the firm’s established regulatory testing and certification offerings for the gaming and broader technology sectors.
GLI’s senior leadership framed the integration as a consolidation of compliance and cybersecurity expertise.
As a global testing, inspection and compliance technology company, GLI is uniquely positioned to deliver industry-leading ISS services that are fully integrated with our world-class compliance services. The result of the integration is a comprehensive suite of services that offer both the highest levels of cybersecurity defense with the highest levels of compliance.
Bulletproof will continue to supply remediation and continuous monitoring services to clients while GLI’s testing teams take responsibility for delivering the ISS assessment portfolio. The partnership follows GLI’s earlier expansion into cybersecurity, which the company says dates to 2012 and was accelerated by its acquisition of Bulletproof Solutions in June 2016.
Gaming Laboratories International said the combined offering is structured across three core categories: Cybersecurity Assessment Solutions, Audit and Compliance Solutions, and Strategy and Governance Solutions. Examples cited by the company include infrastructure and vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, social engineering exercises, ISO/IEC and NIST-aligned audits, PCI DSS health checks, and virtual chief information security officer (vCISO) services.
"Bulletproof remains steadfast in our commitment to delivering world-class IT and cybersecurity services", said Steven Burns, president of Bulletproof. "While our ISS-related assessment services are moving to a world-class testing, inspection and certification platform, we are doubling down on innovative IT infrastructure solutions, our cloud security, compliance and governance offerings, and our portfolio of managed IT and security services – continuing to drive value through modernization and risk reduction for clients across industries and around the globe."

What This Means for Operators and Regulators
For gaming operators, regulators and suppliers, the integration is likely to reduce friction between technical security checks and regulatory certification processes. Combining ISS assessments with GLI’s long-established compliance workflows could speed licensing reviews and create a single audit trail for both security posture and statutory compliance in jurisdictions where GLI provides services.
Regulators increasingly expect operators to demonstrate robust cyber hygiene as part of licensing and ongoing oversight. Services such as ransomware posture assessments, incident readiness reviews and vCISO engagements aim to address those expectations by aligning operator practices with standards from bodies such as ISO/IEC and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
Industry analysts say consolidation of testing and security functions can improve efficiency, but caution that successful outcomes depend on clear scopes, strong independence in audit execution and ongoing third-party validation. Operators should seek clarity on which parts of an engagement are assessment, remediation or managed services to avoid conflicts of interest.
GLI’s announcement follows a broader trend of testing and compliance firms expanding into cybersecurity as the regulatory landscape tightens. As threats evolve and regulators sharpen their focus on operational resilience, integrated offerings that tie security assessments to compliance certification are likely to grow in demand across regulated industries, including land-based and online gaming.
Operators considering the combined GLI – Bulletproof service should evaluate how the new delivery model maps to jurisdictional requirements and whether supplemental independent reviews are warranted. The integration provides a single access point for a broad set of capabilities, but buyers must still validate that the methodology, reporting and remediation governance meet their specific regulator’s standards and internal risk appetite.
