Hard Rock to Open First Canadian Integrates Resort in July
Hard Rock International is preparing to launch its first fully integrated resort in Canada with the grand opening of the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Ottawa scheduled for Thursday, July 3. The new venue marks a significant milestone for the company's expansion strategy in North America.
LISTEN TO THIS ARTICLE:The Ottawa resort is set to feature a 150-room hotel that includes 22 luxury suites, offering upscale accommodations to both local and international guests. The entertainment and gaming floor spans over 150,000 square feet, housing 1,500 slot machines, up to 40 live-action table games, and a high-limit gaming area.

10 restaurants, bars, and lounges will be part of the resort's amenities, including signature venues such as the Hard Rock Café and Council Oak Steakhouse. The venue also includes a Hard Rock Shop offering branded merchandise.
In celebration of its launch, the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Ottawa will host a week of events featuring Canadian entertainers. Specific performance details for the opening week will be announced in the coming weeks.
Hard Rock has described the Ottawa project as a major development in its global expansion plans. The new resort is expected to contribute significantly to the local economy by supporting tourism, generating employment, and enhancing the city's entertainment landscape.

Ottawa to Benefit through Increased Employment
The project will create approximately 700 new jobs, in addition to the employment already provided through the existing Rideau Carleton Casino, which Hard Rock continues to operate. The development has also involved hundreds of tradespeople during its construction phase, adding to its regional economic impact.
The $350 million project broke ground in June 2023 after experiencing multiple delays, including disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation selected Hard Rock in 2017 to take over operations of the casino at Rideau Carleton Raceway. This led to a strategic partnership between Hard Rock and the racetrack, with a shared vision of creating a comprehensive entertainment destination in Ottawa, home to the best Ontario online casinos.
Christine Crump, president of the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Ottawa, stated that the July 3 opening is the beginning of something significant for the city. She emphasized that the opening festivities will blend the high-energy style of the Hard Rock brand with Canadian culture.
She also noted the long anticipation for the project and highlighted the resilience required to reach this point after setbacks caused by the pandemic.
