Light & Wonder Receives UAE Gaming-Related Vendor License
Light & Wonder announced on Friday that it has secured a gaming-related vendor license from the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This development positions the company as the 13th industry supplier to receive such authorization in the country, which is preparing for a highly anticipated expansion into regulated gaming markets.

The license grants Light & Wonder the right to supply land-based electronic gaming machines, table games and utilities. It also gives the company access to online iGaming content to licensed operators operating within the UAE's regulatory framework.

With the UAE taking steps to establish a structured, regulated gaming environment, international suppliers have been positioning themselves to serve new licensees entering the market.
Light & Wonder stated that receiving the GCGRA license represents a significant step as it seeks to be a trusted provider in a jurisdiction viewed as a potential gaming hub in the region.
Company President and CEO Matt Wilson said the license represents a major achievement for Light & Wonder as it enters a newly regulated market that has attracted global attention. Jul 21, 2025UAE Gaming Industry Continues to Take Shape
Light & Wonder's entrance into the UAE gaming market follows the licensing of other high-profile international gaming suppliers. Firms such as Aristocrat, IGT, Novomatic and TCSJohnHuxley have already received gaming-related vendor licenses from the GCGRA.
In addition, several payment service providers have also been authorized to operate within the regulated framework.
While the vendor licensing program continues to expand, operational licenses remain limited. Currently, Wynn Resorts is the only company licensed to operate a land-based casino in the UAE, with its Wynn Al Marjan Island project underway in Ras Al Khaimah.
The development represents a key part of the country's broader gaming strategy and is expected to feature a luxury integrated resort and gaming destination. Additionally, there is one licensed lottery operator authorized by the regulatory authority, further demonstrating the government's cautious and phased approach to gaming market development.
With its new license, Light & Wonder is now positioned to offer its full suite of land-based and digital gaming solutions to licensed operators across the UAE. The company is expected to play a role in shaping the early stages of the country's regulated gaming sector, alongside other established industry players that have also gained regulatory approval.
