The website, which was unveiled today, June 18, allows players to check whether a platform is licensed to operate in the jurisdiction. It features a list of licensed operators with direct links to their official sites.

The platform will undergo regular updates to reflect any changes to licensing status or new operator registrations.

This new website will help our players easily identify and verify whether the online gaming sites are duly licensed before playing or making any payments. By providing the public with a quick and accessible way to check a site's legitimacy, we are empowering them to make informed decisions and avoid falling victim to fraudsters and scammers.

The PAGCOR Guarantee initiative is a cornerstone of the regulator's efforts to prioritize player safety and foster responsible gaming practices. The idea is also prompted by a growing number of complaints about illegal platforms operating in the Phillippines, with some refusing to pay players their winnings.

Leadership Shakeup Looms Ahead

The development comes amid a potential leadership for PAGCOR. Last month, the agency's Board of Directors submitted their resignations as ordered by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

The resignations are not specific to PAGCOR alone. Instead, they form a part of President Marcos' larger effort to realign the country's governance structure. As such, cabinet secretaries and agency heads of other national government agencies were also affected.

The decision to retain their positions remains with the president. However, Tengco may want out of the office as it was reported that he had already submitted his resignation before the directive.
