Scientific Games Takes Golden Nugget Michigan Online
Scientific Games (NASDAQ: SGMS), a leading gambling content provider, has launched online casino and sports betting with the Golden Nugget casino (NASDAQ: GNOG) in Michigan.
The agreement between the two means that players at the Golden Nugget online can enjoy Scientific Games’ extensive in-house gaming content including popular games such as 88 Fortunes and Raging Rhine, as well as a number of customized branded games created especially for the casino.
Furthermore, together with the casino content, sports fans will be able to make use of Scientific Games’ Open Sports™ platform to place online sports wagers for the first time in the state. The Golden Nugget is also due to launch online sports betting in New Jersey with the same platform in the coming weeks.

The news came at the same time that Scientific Games announced that Simon Johnson has been confirmed as the new senior vice president and managing director of EMEA. Johnson has been leading the company’s UK business since March 2020 and has expanded his role to lead teams across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, including sales and operating activities across the regions.
He is expected to have a key role in helping the company navigate the effects of the pandemic and, at the same time, set a course of strategic direction, pursue growth opportunities and best in class practices for the region.
