First Game in Series Now Live
Playtech (LON: PTEC) has launched a new series of games, Shoot for Cash, which are the first certified casino shooter games for the UK market.
The first game in the series, developed by Playtech’s content studio Origins, is Space Hunter. It features retro arcade-style gameplay adapted for casino. Playtech is hoping that the new genre of game will appeal to fans of arcade classics and bring them into the world of casino play.
The game sees players control power cannons that they use to shoot spaceships. The bigger the ship that is shot, the bigger the win. There is also a Free Shots mode in which the cannons vary in power, changing the potential of a successful hit, and the Supernova Explosion feature sees all ships destroyed in the surrounding area to boost winnings.

The producer of the game at Origins, Amir Levy, said that the new Shoot for Cash format is “unlike anything” the studio has done before. He described creating the innovative format as a “major project” for the studio, and he believes that “the result is a massively entertaining title that we are confident will be enjoyed by all kinds of players; slots fans and gamers alike.”
The game previewed at BetVictor before its general release. According to Nolan Frendo, BetVictor’s Casino Games Manager, the player reaction was “fantastic”, and they believe that the new Shoot for Cash concept will develop into a long-term favourite.
