Flutter Entertainment, the renowned global entertainment company, announces its successful collaboration with Cure Leukaemia in achieving a remarkable fundraising milestone of £1 million for the renowned cycling event, 'The Tour 21.' As the headline partner for the years 2023, 2024, and 2025, Flutter has played a significant role in supporting Cure Leukaemia's flagship event.

For the past three weeks, a dedicated team of 18 amateur cyclists, in partnership with Flutter Entertainment embarked on an extraordinary journey across Spain and France as part of 'The Tour 21,' representing Cure Leukaemia.

Their remarkable feat included conquering all stages of the Tour de France, remarkably finishing one week ahead of the professional cyclists. Hailing from different corners of the world, this diverse team of cyclists accomplished the incredible task of cycling the entirety of the world's most prestigious professional cycling event, covering a grueling distance of 3,400 kilometers.

This year, 'The Tour 21' riders were truly pushed to their physical limits, as the route they traversed proved to be the most challenging since the event's inception. Their journey entailed conquering five formidable mountain ranges—the Pyrenees, Massif Central, Jura, Alps, and Vosges. Throughout the 21 stages, these remarkable individuals, representing four different countries, defied the odds and cycled a staggering 55,000 meters of elevation. To put this accomplishment into perspective, this feat is equivalent to scaling Mount Everest over six times or ascending 183 Eiffel Towers.

The funds raised through the efforts of the 'The Tour 21' team will be invested in Cure Leukaemia's Trials Acceleration Programme (TAP). TAP comprises a network of specialized Research Nurses operating in 15 blood cancer centers. This network enables the rapid setup and delivery of potentially life-saving clinical trials, granting patients access to treatments that are currently unavailable through standard care.

Shared Euphoria on the Achievement

Kerry McNally, Group Head of Communities at Flutter, expressed immense joy in surpassing the £1 million donation mark and had the following to say:

We are thrilled to have reached the £ 1 million donation mark in support of The Tour 21 Riders as the challenge comes to a close. Through Cure Leukaemia’s Trials Acceleration Programme (TAP), the money raised by 'The Tour 21' will support a new clinical trial for patients living with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL). As headline sponsors, we are immensely proud to be a part of the effort to eradicate this disease.
This partnership brings together our passion for sport with our commitment to Do More, helping support the communities in which we operate, and with the aim of helping 10 million people by the end of 2030.
