Following this move, Sidepot Casino now has 17 states and Quebec on its excluded list, including the following: Alabama, Arizona, Connecticut, Delaware, Idaho, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Michigan, Montana, New Jersey, New York, Nevada, Tennessee, Washington, and West Virginia.

Fliff Received Cease-and-Desist

With Sidepot Casino being under the Fliff umbrella, this move doesn’t come as a surprise. In August, Betty Sweeps, Thrillzz, Pulz, and Fliff all received cease-and-desist letters. Thrillzz announced an immediate exit from the state.

While Sidepot wasn’t named directly, it’s still under the Fliff umbrella, so perhaps this move is just getting out ahead of what could be inevitable.

That said, it’s worth mentioning that the excluded list for Fliff and Sidepot isn’t 1:1; Fliff excludes players in Colorado, Hawaii, and Ohio, and that’s not the case with Sidepot.

Arizona Against Sweepstakes Casinos

While Arizona hasn’t passed laws like those in Montana, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and California, itsits position on sweepstakes casinos is quite clear.

The Arizona Department of Gaming has come out strongly against them, and as mentioned above, they’ve sent their fair share of cease-and-desist letters.

Several operators, including Ruby Sweeps, have fled the state as another example.

Also, the Arizona Department of Gaming sent out a news release in January of this year that had this to say, among other things:

“Illegal online casinos and sweepstakes platforms present themselves as legitimate platforms, aiming to exploit players by offering illegitimate or illegal gaming services. However, many of these operations are not legal or regulated, leaving users vulnerable to fraud, identity theft, and other serious risks.”
