Sportsbet in New Battle to Fight Problem Gambling in Australia
Flutter Entertainment is known for owning several well-known online betting companies. Sportsbet is the one that is recognised as its flagship sports betting brand in Australia, though. As such, it is taking the central role on fighting gambling addiction within the country, announcing a new campaign for it recently.
The company vowed to put even more work into safeguarding gambling customers from harm. Its new campaign, which comes with the slogan “take a sec before you bet”, is designed to encourage customers to gamble cautiously. Through it, deposit limits on gambling accounts are promoted for all players, thereby placing a barrier in front of gambling addiction.
Sportsbet has quite the status in Australia where sports betting is concerned, and it now has the aim of encouraging a much broader review of responsible gambling processes within that market. The promotion of responsible gambling is not just relative to Sportsbet, but to all Australian sportsbooks and beyond.
The new campaign has been launched in good time, considering that the NFL, NBA and college sports seasons are coming up. Naturally, these exist as some of the largest sporting events, resulting in greater numbers of bets being placed at online bookies.
Even so, Sportsbet aims to address problem gambling in a larger way, pushing for more awareness to be raised over it. The new campaign is expected to be broadcast on multiple channels, and this includes television, as well as radio, outdoor billboards and much more. It is already active on the YouTube media sharing website.
The introduction of this new campaign is all part of a bigger strategy by Flutter Entertainment, which has been pushing responsible gambling heavily as of late. Various other gambling operators around the world have also taken point on this, with the DraftKings and American Gaming Association (AGA) launching their own campaign earlier on. The “Have a Game Plan” initiative targets problem gambling in the United States of America.
