UEFA Bans Arsenal Tivat over Match-Fixing
The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has imposed a 10-year ban on FK Arsenal Tivat and several of its players and officials for their involvement in match-fixing activities.

The UEFA disciplinary body found Arsenal Tivat guilty of breaching two key articles of its disciplinary regulations: Article 11, covering 'general principles of conduct', and Article 12, focusing on maintaining the integrity of matches and preventing match-fixing.
The case centers around a UEFA Europa Conference League qualifying tie between FK Arsenal Tivat and Alashkert in June 2023, which was marred by allegations of match-fixing. The Montenegrin side drew 1-1 in the first leg but suffered a humiliating 6-1 defeat at home in the second leg.
While UEFA did not elaborate on the specifics of the case, the governing body issued a penalty against Arsenal Tivat and certain players and officials who were part of the club during the incident.
With the 10-year ban, Arsenal Tivat will be barred from participating in UEFA competitions until the end of the 2033-34 season. The ban will also extend worldwide, as FIFA has been requested to implement it globally, effectively disqualifying the club from all international competitions.
As part of UEFA's disciplinary action, the club has also been ordered to pay a hefty fine of €500,000 ($579,460).
