888 Now Licensed in Virginia, Partners VEP

Leading online casino, sports betting, and online poker website, 888 has been granted a provisional sports betting license from the Virginia Lottery to operate as a legal entity in Virginia.

Recently this year, 888 partnered with Authentic Brands Group(ABG), owner of the Sports Illustrated brand, to develop Sports Illustrated online sports betting and iGaming products in the US.

Following its approval to operate in Virginia, 888, in alignment with the development and entertainment company, will launch SI Sportsbook in the state early next year.

888 has also entered into an agreement with Virtual Entertainment Partners LLC (VEP), a small African American female-owned minority certified company based in Virginia, to create opportunities and contribute to the growth and diversity of the minority communities in the state.

With the latest approval from Virginia, 888 now has agreements with nine US states, including Colorado, Delaware, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.

The online betting firm released its Q3 trading update in October with group revenues of $230m, 7% higher than $216m of 2020.

We are delighted to have been awarded our license by the Virginia Lottery. This is an essential milestone for 888, which enhances our foothold in the US online sports betting and iGaming market. There is a growing sports betting fanbase in the state, and I firmly believe that SI Sportsbook, supported by our partners at Sports Illustrated, will offer a unique and differentiated experience to our customers which will be well-received.
