Entain Gives Betting Shops a Digital Makeover
Entain (LON: ENT), one of the world’s biggest gambling operators, has announced that it is giving its retail locations across the UK and Europe a digital makeover. The aim is to improve the omni-channel experience for customers and the brands Ladbrokes, Coral and Eurobet are the first to receive the digital treatment.
Entain has already run successful trials of modern store designs and formats in the UK and Italy. According to Rob Wood, the company’s CFO and Deputy Chief Executive, the makeovers provide customers with a more immersive and unified online omni-channel experience.

Entain has recently opened 18 new digital hubs in the UK, and it plans to have a total of 30 by the end of the year in cities such as Leeds, Birmingham, London, Portsmouth, Sunderland, Wolverhampton, Newcastle, Dumfries, and Leicester. The aim is to have 200 UK digital stores by the end of 2024.
The modernized stores are sure to give high streets a boost, especially given the vast number of shop closures that have resulted from the pandemic. The stores contain the latest gaming machines and interactive displays, which gives customers more choice of interactive sports and gaming content. There are also digital window displays and interior screens, allowing for live events and promotions to be displayed.
Entain is planning to convert around 200 Eurobet shops across Italy and to have the first 30 ready by the end of this year. They will include a number of “Eurobet Cafes”, giving customers a new place to meet with friends.
