The Joint Gaming Authority of the States (GGL), the German gambling regulator, has taken decisive action against Red Rhino Limited, an online gaming provider, for its continued unauthorized gambling activities in Germany.

Despite an enforceable prohibition order already in place, Red Rhino persisted in its operations, leading to a hefty fine imposed by GGL.

Red Rhino Limited has been slapped with a fine of 50,000 euros for its non-compliance. While the company did halt its gambling services on the website platincasino.de, it continued to operate on its similarly named website with the “.com” domain ending. This blatant disregard for the prohibition order prompted GGL to take stringent measures.

In addition to the fine on Red Rhino, a significant penalty payment was also levied on a payment service provider associated with the gaming company. This move by GGL showcases its commitment to curbing unauthorized live online casinos and gambling activities and sends a clear message to the market about its zero-tolerance policy.

GGL's Firm Stance on Unauthorized Gambling

GGL's approach is not just about imposing fines but ensuring that such unauthorized activities cease completely. The authority has the power to repeatedly impose penalty payments or even increase them until the concerned parties fully adhere to the prohibition order.

Board member Benjamin Schwanke commented on the effectiveness of GGL's measures, stating, “GGL’s measures are having an impact, and we are seeing an increasing pushback on existing unauthorized online gambling offers.”

This sentiment was echoed by fellow board member Ronald Benter, who emphasized the importance of channeling players toward legal gambling platforms.

This goes hand in hand with channeling to legal offers. Consumers should make sure that they only use legal online gambling offers, as the strict legal player protection measures are supervised by the GGL.

In conclusion, GGL's recent actions against Red Rhino Limited underline the authority's commitment to ensuring a safe and legal online gambling environment in Germany. Players are urged to be vigilant and engage only with platforms that adhere to the legal standards set by GGL, ensuring not only fair play but also the highest level of player protection.
