Medical Student Wins $2.2M Home from Pechanga Resort Casino
TEMECULA, Calif. – A Southern California medical student has won a $2.2 million home through a promotion at Pechanga Resort Casino.
Anahy M., who has been living with her daughter and boyfriend in a converted garage near Vernon, won the grand prize in the casino’s Home Sweet Win promotion.
The three-month contest ended with Anahy and two other finalists choosing keys to unlock the door to a new luxury home in Orange County. Her key opened the winning door during the finale hosted by Ty Pennington.

Winner Plans New Start for Family
Anahy is studying to become an ultrasound technician and is expected to graduate in August. She said she moved to Los Angeles from Perris in 2024 for school, but rising rents forced her family to move into her parents’ garage.
“I moved to L.A. from Perris, California, to go to school in 2024, but rents are so expensive all over Los Angeles”, Anahy said. “We moved into my parents’ garage, not thinking life was going to lead me here. My dream has always been to give my daughter a better future.”
Anahy toured the new home with her seven-year-old daughter, boyfriend and extended family the morning after the drawing. She said she was especially looking forward to cooking for her family and no longer needing to use a laundromat.

Finalists Took Part in Key Drawing
Pechanga’s Home Sweet Win promotion gave Pechanga Rewards Card members the chance to qualify for the final home giveaway. During the finale, finalists selected keys and doors for a chance to win the fully furnished home. Anahy selected the winning key and became the new owner of the Orange County property. Two other finalists each received $50,000.
Anahy said she had dreamed about the contest and the house in the weeks leading up to the event. “For years, I’ve been working hard and dreaming about giving my daughter her dream home”, she said.
Pechanga Plans to Bring Promotion Back
Sean Vasquez, President of the Pechanga Development Corporation, said the promotion was designed to create a life-changing moment for one rewards member.
“There’s nothing quite like watching someone’s life change in a single moment”, Vasquez said. “On Saturday, that moment belonged to Anahy and her family, and the joy in that room is exactly why we created Home Sweet Win.”
Pechanga said the Home Sweet Win promotion is expected to return in 2027. Alongside this year’s home giveaway, Pechanga also donated nearly $100,000 to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles to support rebuilding efforts following the 2025 wildfires.
