MGCB Promotes Responsible Gambling with New Campaign

The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has unveiled a new responsible gambling campaign to mark Problem Gambling Awareness Month.

The campaign titled 'Don’t Regret the Bet' will offer tips and information about gambling risks, help players avoid the harms of problem gambling, and advise players who find it hard to control their gambling behavior.

Don’t Regret the Bet offers six tips for players to avoid gambling harm: Think of gambling as entertainment, not as a side job. Know your limits. And stick to them; Keep a good balance between gambling and other activities; Keep your head on straight; Don’t believe it if you’re feeling lucky, and don’t chase your losses.

The campaign will air state-wide across different channels on TV, radio, and social media and as point-of-sale video ads at gas stations and digital billboards.

Starting in March, Michigan residents will hear and see new public service messages on local TV and radio stations and on popular social media platforms reminding them to enjoy gaming responsibly. March is Problem Gambling Awareness Month, making it the perfect time to launch the MGCB’s educational campaign. The yearlong campaign is a crucial step in our ongoing efforts to reach the public with information, tips, and tactics promoting responsible gaming.
