Nine Internet Gaming Sites Get Approval for Ontario Market

Ontario’s gaming regulator, The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO), has awarded internet gaming licences to nine online casino brands owned by Betsson, Games Global and Boyd Gaming-owned Pala Interactive.

Of the total number of issued gaming licenses, Apollo Entertainment LTD, a subsidiary of Games Global, got seven, while the other two went to websites managed by Betsson-owned GWN Limited and Boyd-owned Pala Interactive, respectively.

The Apollo sites licensed include Yukongold casino, Casinoclassic.com, Luxury casino, Grandmondialcasino.com, Goldentiger casino, Zodiac casino and Captain-cooks casino.

Ot.betsafe.com and On.canplaycasino.com belong to GWN Limited and Palo Interactive, respectively.

The licenses permit the websites to offer games of chance like roulette, blackjack and baccarat for real money in the Ontario market for one year.

Ontario launched its regulated iGaming and sports betting market on April 4 2022. At the end of its first quarter of legalized iGaming, the AGCO subsidiary, iGaming Ontario published a financial report of the gambling industry in the province. The market reached a gross gambling revenue (GGR) of CA$162m (£106.4m/ $118.1m/ €121.1m).

Our aim is to be the best gaming jurisdiction in the world and these positive results are an early sign that we’re on our way. With a competitive revenue share rate and low barriers to entry, Ontario is an attractive igaming market with a strong player base.
