Ocean Casino Resort Expands the Cove with $14 Million Investment
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – Ocean Casino Resort will invest $14 million to expand and redesign its high-limit slot area, The Cove. The project will increase the space by roughly 60% and add more than 192 slot machines ahead of an early 2027 opening.
The redesigned area will span 11,935 square feet and sit adjacent to Ocean’s Asian Table Games section. The project also forms part of a wider effort to increase the number of slot machines available across the Atlantic City resort.
The investment follows a broader $50 million renovation program announced in 2025, which included hotel upgrades, new dining concepts and an expansion of the casino’s Asian gaming area.
The Cove to Grow by About 60%
Ocean said that The Cove will feature machines from manufacturers including Aristocrat, Light & Wonder and IGT. The lineup will include slots, linked games, progressive-style products and video poker.
The existing Cove covers approximately 7,450 square feet and contains more than 140 slot machines. The planned expansion therefore adds substantial floor space and raises the number of available machines to more than 192.
Additional amenities will include dedicated cocktail service, seating areas, restrooms and cashier booths. Ocean said the redesign will also introduce new architectural and interior elements inspired by its Atlantic City Boardwalk location.
“This transformation of The Cove is another significant investment in the future of Ocean Casino Resort and the experiences we deliver to our guests.”

Ocean Continues Casino Floor Investment
The Cove project follows other recent changes to Ocean’s premium gaming areas. The resort has doubled its Asian gaming space to 8,000 square feet, with 32 tables offering games including Baccarat and Pai Gow Poker.
Ocean also operates a separate High Limit Table Games area and The Loft, a 2,000-square-foot private gaming suite on the 44th floor. The latest investment extends that premium-gaming strategy into a substantially larger high-limit slot environment.
The Cove expansion also continues a multiyear investment program at Ocean Casino Resort. The property previously said its 2025 improvements brought its cumulative investment since 2018 to roughly $270 million, covering hotel rooms, restaurants, gaming areas and other guest facilities.
Early 2027 Opening Planned
Construction and redesign work will continue ahead of the planned opening in early 2027. Ocean had previously identified January 2027 as the expected timing for the expanded Cove, although its latest announcement describes the opening more broadly as early next year.
The completed project will increase both the size and machine capacity of The Cove while contributing to Ocean’s wider expansion of its overall slot inventory. Further details on the specific game lineup are expected closer to opening.
