Online Gambling & Sports Betting Set for Saskatchewan November Launch

It is understood that the Canadian province of Saskatchewan is set to imminently launch its first online gambling and sports betting site, Play Now, in early November, with this set to become available via regulation with the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA).

Sask Gaming, a crown corporation of the local government that also is involved in Casino Regina and Casino Moose Jaw, also plays a vital role in the deal.

This move has been much anticipated over the last few weeks, with the Canadian online gambling market increasing considerably after the province of Ontario became regulated.

Saskatchewan the 3rd Province to Offer PlayNow

The province is now the third in Canada to provide the PlayNow site to potential customers after both Ontario and also British Columbia also approved its licence.

We are excited to be the exclusive provider of Saskatchewan’s first and only legal online gaming site, which will provide a safe and secure option for residents to play their favourite casino games and bet on their favourite sports teams online. Residents will be pleased to know that when they play on the PlayNow.com site, the proceeds are reinvested back into the province. Similar to the existing brick-and-mortar casinos in the province, all net proceeds from the PlayNow.com site are reinvested back into Saskatchewan.

Meanwhile, following the sponsorship deal struck between SIGA and the CFL’s Saskatchewan Riders, it means that PlayNow’s logo will be seen around the stadium as well as team jerseys.

President and CEO of the football club, Craig Reynolds, outlined the importance of this deal, stating: “We are excited to welcome PlayNow.com as a valued partner and newest member of our strong Rider Nation.”

Meanwhile, Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations (FSIN) CEO Bobby Cameron added: “This historical partnership is the first of its kind, with a First Nations operator for online gaming with revenue sharing between First Nations and the province.

“This will provide many economic benefits to the residents of the province and our First Nations communities.”

What Can PlayNow Customers Expect from the Site?

With this launch expected to be greeted with enthusiasm, PlayNow could well become one of the leading online casinos in the province, while the sports betting product is also expected to attract a good amount of interest. A host of slots and table games will be on offer from leading software providers, while there is also a fully functioning sportsbook.

The timing could not be better for the operator, with the sports season in full swing - both the NBA and NFL are well underway, while the NHL campaign has barely started. This is a great opportunity for the brand to make effective use of relevant marketing channels to make sure that it can really make an impact.

It is clear that there has been a positive response from the Canadian market in relation to the iGaming industry, and just like the US, it is a country that is beginning to accept the reality of the landscape.

A strong and respectable background for PlayNow means that customers will likely be treated to a fully functional and highly optimised online offering, with their ease and convenience in mind.
