Playtech Partners with Hard Rock Digital and Invests $85 Million
Playtech, the leading gaming software and services supplier, has announced a partnership with Hard Rock Digital (HRD), an online gaming and sports betting operator, to supply gaming content and technology. HRD is the online brand of Hard Rock International and Seminole Gaming.
The deal has seen Playtech invest $85 million in the Hard Rock Digital business and, in return, will own a small share of the company, reported by both parties to be less than ten percent.
As part of the collaboration, Playtech will provide HRD with gaming technology and software. This includes the player management platforms from Playtech and existing customer support services for markets outside of North America.
The agreement means players on the HRD platform in North America will also be able to enjoy the complete suite of games from Playtech.
The Playtech team is thrilled to announce our strategic partnership with HRD. Hard Rock International has cemented itself as a marquee name worldwide, not just in gambling but more widely in entertainment. For Playtech, this partnership significantly advances our position in the North American market and is very much in line with our B2B strategy.
In the announcement, HRD has revealed that this deal will help with its planned growth strategy because of Playtech’s software expertise and global knowledge of gaming markets. HRD has stated that the investment from Playtech will be used to finance the company’s strategy of expansion in the future.
This partnership will act as an accelerator to Hard Rock Digital's planned strategic initiative to expand its online gaming offerings to international markets, becoming the first operator with a global omni-channel offering under a singular, irreplaceable brand, This announcement only reinforces our commitment to lead innovation in the gaming industry and expand the 'Hard Rock' experience worldwide.
