Boyd and Aristocrat Bring Cashless Gaming to Nevada

Aristocrat Gaming, a subsidiary of Aristocrat Leisure (ASX: ALL), has joined forces with Boyd Gaming (NYSE: BYD) and Genesis Gaming to introduce cashless table games in Nevada.

The games are powered by Aristocrat’s digital wallet technology, Boyd Pay Wallet, and they are available to play at Boyd’s Aliante Casino Hotel and Spa in North Las Vegas. Boyd Pay Wallet has been integrated with Boyd Gaming’s B Connected app, which gives players the ability to use their mobile device to place their bets without having to withdraw cash, redeem tickets, or purchase chips from a casino cage.

After players log into the B Connected app, they can then use the Boyd Pay Wallet to buy into the game and then use casino chips for the actual game. After playing, players can opt to keep the physical chips or transfer the funds back to their Boyd Pay Wallet.

The trial run of the cashless games is being run with Genesis and its Oasis 360 casino management system with TrackIT, which gives guests the ability to bet using a QR code generated by Boyd Pay at the start of each session.

Aristocrat Gaming’s executive vice president of customer experience solutions, Cath Burns, said that innovation lies at the heart of all that the company does, as testified to by their “industry-leading mobile offerings”. She added, “With this technology, we’re committed to deliver best-in-class experiences for both patrons and operators throughout the guest journey.”

The Nevada trial comes after cashless technology was introduced for slot players at Boyd venues in Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Ohio, as well as a cashless payment solution for non-gaming amenities in Nevada.
