Caesars Announces Dates and Venues for WSOP 2022
World Series of Poker (WSOP), one of the most popular and widely followed poker events globally, is set to hold this year in its pioneer location on the Las Vegas Strip.
According to the daily schedule released by its organizers, the WSOP 2022 edition will be held from 31 May - 20 July at Bally's Hotel & Casino and the Paris Hotel & Casino. With the dual venues, 600 Poker tables, and 200,000 square feet of gaming space, this year's event is scheduled to be the largest tournament capacity in the event's history. Last year’s WSOP was also held in Sin City, and its main event was won by Koray Aldemir.
WSOP, which began in 1970, was held at the Rio All-Suite and Casino for the past 17 years, located about a mile away from the strip. Since 2004, Caesars Entertainment had been the event's primary sponsor before it owned it in 2020. Some of the notable events that would be featured in this year's tournament include the $10,000 No-Limit Hold 'em World Championship, 'The Housewarming' opening weekend event with a prize pool of $5m, the $1,000 Buy-In Million Dollar Bounty, and the new Tournament of Champions.
WSOP's live television partner is CBS Sports. The event shall make use of the American pay television network again to broadcast the live footage of the tournament, which will include a minimum of 18 events across three weeks.
The organizers state that participants shall not be required to submit their Covid-19 vaccination status to enter the tournament. However, they are mandated to adhere to the local Nevada state laws.
Participants can register for the event online or live. They can benefit from discounted rooms at the two venues of the event and other perks of being a Caesars Rewards loyalty scheme member.
