Under the banner of Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana, the Cordish Companies is set to embark on a transformative journey in Louisiana. This is after the Louisiana Gaming Control Board (LGCB) gave the green light to Cordish Thursday for the ambitious renovation of DiamondJacks Casino in Bossier City.

Bossier City Goes Live

The vision behind this endeavor is not merely a facelift; it's a complete metamorphosis. Cordish Companies aims to redefine the gaming landscape in the Shreveport-Bossier area by ushering in the region's inaugural land-based casino.

This ambitious plan includes the retirement of the existing riverboat, making way for a modernized gaming and hospitality destination that is anticipated to grace the scene in 2025. Cordish plans on investing $270 million to revitalize the property as it enters the state.

Ronnie Johns, the chairman of the LGCB, said in a statement that the nod given to Cordish Companies wasn't arbitrary. Instead, it was the result of the company's stellar track record in delivering unparalleled casino experiences, coupled with its prowess in managing top-tier hospitality and entertainment venues across the US.

This decision reflects the board's confidence in Cordish Companies and its commitment to executing a project of exceptional caliber. Johns expects the substantial investment to catalyze growth in the gaming market of Bossier City and Shreveport.

The transition also signals a strategic move to elevate the gaming experience in the region. By transitioning from a riverboat setup to a state-of-the-art land-based casino, Cordish Companies aims to set a new standard for gaming and entertainment in the Shreveport-Bossier area.

As the project unfolds over the coming years, the anticipation builds for the residents of Bossier City and Shreveport, as well as the broader gaming community. The project speaks not only to the economic impact but also to the creation of a premier entertainment destination that will attract visitors from near and far.

An Ambitious Project

The revamped casino is set to introduce an array of features aimed at elevating the overall gaming and entertainment experience. Encompassing over 47,000 square feet of gaming space, the casino will boast a diverse offering, including over 1,000 slots, electronic table games and a selection of more than 40 live-action table games. A sportsbook is also included in the design.

Beyond gaming, the transformation extends to accommodations, presenting an upscale 550-room hotel complete with a resort pool and a fitness center. The emphasis on entertainment is further underscored by the introduction of a 25,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art multi-purpose event center. This versatile space is designed to host top-name entertainment acts, meetings, conventions, nonprofit events and social gatherings, adding a dynamic element to the casino's offerings.

A notable addition to the revamped casino is the 30,000 square feet of best-in-class dining and entertainment venues. This culinary journey includes the introduction of 6+ new food and beverage outlets, featuring renowned concepts such as Sports & Social and PBR Cowboy Bar.

Culinary diversity is further enhanced with the inclusion of Luk Fu, an Asian restaurant, and a fine dining steakhouse. These dining options promise a delightful gastronomic experience for visitors.
