First Look Inside Casino Del Sol’s Vahi Taa’am Property
TUCSON, Ariz.: Casino Del Sol has released the first interior images of Vahi Taa’am, its new Tucson casino opening Nov. 15. The property is expected to create approximately 500 jobs in Southern Arizona.
The 163,000-square-foot development is located at 1055 W. Grant Road near Interstate 10. It will become the Pascua Yaqui Tribe’s third gaming property and the first casino located within Tucson’s city limits.

Interior Design Centers Pascua Yaqui Culture
The newly released images highlight a 24,000-square-foot mural covering the casino’s interior dome ceiling. Tucson artist Joe Pagac designed the artwork to resemble an Arizona desert sky, with programmable lighting that changes its appearance from midday to sunset.
The large-scale installation is intended to serve as a central visual feature inside the property. It sits beneath a copper dome installed during construction and combines painted desert imagery with adjustable lighting effects.
Yaqui painter Marcelino C. Flores III is also creating a piece titled Aniam Yo’orine, which means “Respect the Worlds” in Yoeme. The artwork will incorporate Pascua Yaqui oral traditions and the five worlds that are central to Yoeme spiritual life.
Vahi Taa’am, pronounced vah-hee tah-ahm, means “Three Suns” in Yoeme, the language of the Pascua Yaqui people. Tribal officials selected the name to distinguish the new location from the flagship Casino Del Sol property on Valencia Road while reflecting the community’s culture and future.
New Casino Will Add 924 Slot Machines
The new Casino Del Sol property will include a 52,334-square-foot gaming floor with 924 slot machines, including 56 high-limit games. It will also offer table games, seven bar-top gaming stations and a sportsbook covering major sporting events.
Dining options will include the 174-seat Old Pascua Grill and Sewa Market, an open-concept food hall combining several concepts already represented at the Tribe’s flagship resort. Three bars are also planned throughout the casino.
The development includes a four-level parking structure with more than 1,200 spaces. Its location near Interstate 10 is expected to make the property accessible to visitors traveling through central Tucson as well as residents of the surrounding area.
November Opening Expected to Add 500 Jobs
Casino Del Sol expects Vahi Taa’am to employ approximately 500 people across gaming, hospitality, food service, security and administrative roles. Recruitment is continuing as construction and interior work move closer to completion.
The Nov. 15 opening will expand the Pascua Yaqui Tribe’s Southern Arizona gaming portfolio, which also includes Casino Del Sol Resort and Casino of the Sun. The new interior images move the project from construction updates toward final preparations for its public launch.
