Parimatch and Blaze Sign Deals with Brazilian Football Clubs

Online betting operators Parimatch and Blaze have announced new sponsorship deals with Brazilian football clubs Botafogo and Atlético Clube Goianiense.

Under the terms of Blaze's agreement with the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B side, Atlético Clube Goianiense, it will become the club's main sponsor and feature on the team's kits.

Parimatch has also agreed on a similar deal with Campeonato Brasileiro Série A team Botafogo to become the club's official shirt sponsor for two years.

While the partnerships will aid the clubs' expansion and international standing, they will also strengthen the betting providers' foothold in Brazil.

We are pleased to be the club chosen by Parimatch, a global betting giant, to expand its business across Brazil and South America. Our new Parimatch partners will soon know what it's like to be a chosen one.

Brazil’s Sports Betting Laws Stalemate

The Brazilian sports betting market is starting to look appealing again for external operators after former president Jair Bolsonaro failed to sign the most recent sports gambling law that would have regulated sports betting in the country.

If signed, the law would have seen the country take control of its online sports betting market. It would have been able to issue licenses and restrict unlicensed operators in the jurisdiction. Most importantly, the country would have started gaining income from the sports betting revenue generated in its territory.

When it seemed like the laws would take effect, the Brazilian Ministry of Justice started investigating gambling advertising and sponsorship deals with plans to crack down on the ones it deemed illegal. However, with the new laws ending in a stalemate, external online sports operators are reinvesting in Brazilian football and signing new deals with sports teams.

We were looking for a team that shared our values, had a rich history, loyal fans, and big ambitions for the future. We are sure we have found the right one in Botafogo. It is a great honor for us to join this team and conquer new heights together. Let's start the new year strong and continue to support and grow the sports industry in Brazil.
