Pavilion Payments, the payments provider for the gaming industry, has announced it will fund ongoing research by the International Center for Responsible Gaming (ICRG), the US-based company that investigates gambling harm in the sector.

The payments provider states that the aim of the research funding is to help create more efficient tools for responsible gaming that will allow customers to play more securely.

Together, we aim to contribute to the development of responsible gambling initiatives that prioritize the well-being of players; this generous grant will empower us to conduct groundbreaking research, providing industry leaders with the evidence needed to make informed decisions about the strengths and weaknesses of play management systems.

The research company has identified that some responsible gaming tools could be more effective but are not promoted to players at the correct time or not at all.

The research that Pavilion Payments is to fund relates to previous studies conducted by the ICRG. Dr. Michael J.A. Wohl, based at Carleton University in Ottawa, is leading the research, which looks at the benefit of players setting betting limits prior to a gaming session rather than other responsible gaming tools during wagering.

Gaming Industry Stakeholders Continue to Promote Responsible Gambling

Pavilion Payments states that it fully endorses responsible wagering in the iGaming industry and works with many stakeholders in the markets to ensure that players have a safe environment where they can place wagers and to prevent its customers from any gambling-related harm.

At Pavilion Payments, we are committed to promoting responsible and ethical practices within the gaming industry; our investment in the ICRG reflects our dedication to advancing research that will contribute to the development of effective tools for responsible gambling. We believe in the potential of Dr. Wohl's research to reshape the gaming landscape by positively contributing to a future of responsible gaming.
