Playtech Extends Sony Deal to 2028 to Supply New Titles

Playtech, the leading technology provider in the gambling industry, has announced it has signed an agreement with Sony Television to extend its exclusive partnership with the media platform by a further two years to 2028. Central to the collaboration is the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? series of titles developed by Playtech.

Under the terms of the original five-year deal Playtech committed to initially deliver two games based on the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? TV quiz show. The developer came up with Millionaire-themed versions of Live Roulette and Live Trivia and has recently added Video Poker Live to its portfolio.

Details of the partnership extension show Playtech will introduce new titles and familiar features to its Millionaire series and will include iconic favorites including 50/50 and Ask the Audience.

Expansion in North America

Senior management at Playtech says the extension of the agreement is part of its strategic plan to partner with popular brands in the iGaming industry and use these collaborations to drive expansion throughout North America. By using innovation and providing quality interactive gaming content Playtech believes this will mark it out from its competitors in new jurisdictions.

Both parties have plans to bring its series of titles into more new markets in North America, including expanding into several states in the US, as well as Mexico, and Canada.
