The sessions give operators, affiliates, startups and suppliers a more practical format as the Americas face rising pressure around prediction markets, sweepstakes and player-facing promotion.

The masterclasses will take place on June 10 and 11 in Room 207 at the Broward County Convention Center. SBC said the sessions will run alongside the main conference program and will be built around active participation rather than standard panel discussions.

The new format adds another layer to the event’s wider Knowledge Vault, which will feature 250 speakers across a six-stage conference. Topics across the broader program include leadership, sports betting, casino, payments, technology, affiliation, regulation and player protection.

Rasmus Sojmark, CEO and Founder of SBC, said the format reflects a more ambitious education program for the event.

This year’s educational program is by far the most ambitious we have ever delivered, and the introduction of these masterclasses adds another layer of depth for attendees. Education is far more than just listening. It's asking difficult questions, working with peers facing similar challenges, and putting theory into practice. That’s what these masterclasses are all about.

Prediction Markets and Sweepstakes Lead Legal Agenda

One of the headline sessions, “Prediction Markets: Cross-Border Legal Challenges and Role of Gaming Regulation”, will examine how prediction markets are treated across legal, financial and gaming frameworks. The topic has become increasingly important as operators, regulators and investors continue debating the future of event contracts and prediction markets across the Americas.

The session will include Ian Thomas of Offit Kurman, Joshua Kirschner of Nelson Mullins, Sara Tait of Fanatics Gaming & Betting and Bill Gantz of Duane Morris. SBC said the discussion will cover classification issues, enforcement differences across North America and Latin America, and the legal risks facing companies that enter the sector.

Sweepstakes will also receive dedicated attention through the “Cross-Border & Outbound Sweepstakes Opportunities” masterclass. The session will look at compliant campaign structures, localisation strategies and the legal risks of expanding into new jurisdictions.

That session will be led by John K. Maloney, Christian Tirabassi of Ficom Leisure, Christian Rapani of Rapani Law, Kevin Weber of Dickinson Wright and Joerg Hofmann of MELCHERS Law Firm. The timing is notable, with sweepstakes operators facing heavier scrutiny in parts of the United States as lawmakers and regulators examine whether some models resemble unlicensed gambling.

Influencer Marketing and Startup Funding Also in Focus

SBC will also host a masterclass on sports betting influencers, titled “Betting on Influence: An Analysis of Sports Betting Influencers”. The session will examine how sportsbooks can use influencer marketing while managing responsible gambling, compliance and audience risk.

Bryson Huey and Alan Feldman of the UNLV International Gaming Institute will lead the session. SBC said the masterclass will use real examples of influencer content to examine linguistic, psychological and visual techniques that shape engagement.

Two further sessions will focus on investment for startups. “What Gets Funded and What Gets Bought: Inside the Minds of Investors and Operators” will examine how investors and operators assess opportunities, while “Fundraising 101: Win Your First Round” will offer early-stage companies a practical roadmap for securing initial investment.

The masterclasses form part of SBC’s push to make its Americas event more practical for companies dealing with fast-changing regulation, market access decisions and funding conditions. Conference passes are priced at $399, while operators and affiliates may qualify for complimentary VIP passes.
