SBC Expands Global Regulation Coverage Through IAGR and IMGL Partnership
LONDON – SBC Events has signed a three-year agreement with the International Association of Gaming Regulators and the International Masters of Gaming Law.
The partnership will expand regulatory education across SBC’s events and media platforms as gambling companies face increasingly complex compliance demands worldwide.
The agreement brings together SBC, IAGR and IMGL to develop education, content and industry discussion around gambling regulation. The groups said the project will support international cooperation, knowledge exchange and clearer communication between regulators, lawyers, advisers and gaming businesses.
The collaboration will include conference programming, interviews, commentary, podcasts and publications focused on regulatory issues. It also gives SBC’s 2026 event calendar a stronger legal and compliance focus, following its recent addition of interactive masterclasses covering prediction markets, sweepstakes, influencer marketing and startup investment.
IAGR President Ben Haden said regulators need regular engagement with the wider gambling sector as laws and standards continue to change.
“A key opportunity for the world’s gambling regulators is maintaining regular engagement with all parts of the global industry in order to educate and exchange views with businesses on changing rules and laws in our sector”, Haden said. “This collaborative partnership with SBC and IMGL will make communication between stakeholders so much easier and ensure we are able to raise the bar on standards.”
Regulatory Meetups Planned for SBC Summit
The first major project under the agreement will be a schedule of regulatory meetups at SBC Summit in Lisbon, which runs from September 29 to October 1, 2026.
The meetups are intended to give stakeholders current information on gambling markets around the world. SBC said further details will be published through its event channels.
The three organizations will also support the IAGR Annual Conference in Lima, Peru, from October 19 to 22, 2026. That gives the partnership an international footprint across both industry-facing and regulator-led events.
IMGL President Marc Dunbar said the collaboration will help companies keep track of what is permitted across different jurisdictions.
“This is the perfect collaboration to keep the industry educated about what is allowed and what is not in global jurisdictions”, Dunbar said. “IMGL’s network of igaming lawyers, combined with IAGR’s regulator members, and SBC’s industry reach and extensive content portfolio, is a powerful way to keep the industry informed about the latest changes.”
More Regulation
Compliance Takes Larger Role in Global Gaming
The agreement comes as regulation becomes a bigger commercial issue for betting and gaming companies operating across multiple markets. Operators increasingly need to manage different rules on marketing, product design, safer gambling, licensing, payments and cross-border access.
SBC Founder and CEO Rasmus Sojmark said regulation has become central to how companies in the sector operate.
Regulation has never been more important to how companies in our sector do business, and an ever-changing regulatory landscape makes compliance ever more difficult. This is why I’m proud to team up with IAGR and IMGL to give SBC’s audience the very best information on how the laws are changing across the world.
IAGR is a global organisation governed by gaming regulatory authorities, while IMGL brings together specialist gaming lawyers, regulators and professional advisers. SBC operates events, media and advisory services across the betting and gaming industry.
The next step will be the rollout of regulatory content and the Lisbon meetups later this year, where the partnership is expected to bring legal and regulatory discussion closer to operators, suppliers and industry decision-makers.
