Scientific Games Deal to Provide Lottery Technology in Germany

Scientific Games, the industry leader in lottery digital and retail platforms, has announced a partnership with WestLotto to introduce new technology through terminals to lottery retailers in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. This will include the company’s latest platform, the Contour.v terminals.

Both parties say the new terminals will be the next step in advancing technology in the interaction between terminals and players, and is a chance to modernize the lottery offering throughout North Rhine-Westphalia.

This move strengthens the partnership between Scientific Games and WestLotto, with the former supplying the lottery company for twenty-five years. Scientific Games has a strong presence in Germany and is a supplier to all 16 lotteries in the region.

Introduce New Terminals with Camera-Based Technology

Scientific Games boasts its high-performance Contour.v terminals are packed with features that will enhance the experience for lottery players. This new platform will be introduced throughout the North Rhine-Westphalia state beginning in April 2025.

The Contour.v platform are camera-based optical terminals, that allow for HD scanning and a configurable interface. This range of terminals is described as durable and has been designed to allow for easy-to-integrate software updates.

It is also hoped that the new terminals will also benefit the network of more than 3,000 lottery retailers across the German state.

Our work with WestLotto’s longtime technology partner Scientific Games continues to modernize our retail network. The new camera-based terminals are the next step toward digitalizing transactions in our retail environments, and we anticipate a very positive reaction from our retailers as well as our players.
