Scientific Games Partners with Lotto NZ to Be System Provider

Scientific Games, a global leader in lottery retail and digital games, has announced a multi-year partnership with Lotto NZ to be a systems technology provider for the national lottery in New Zealand.

Scientific Games has signed a seven-year deal with Lotto NZ that starts when the system goes live, and there is a possibility of an extension of up to twelve years.

Currently, Lotto NZ offers a portfolio of games that includes digital and retail versions of Lotto, Powerball, Strike, Bullseye, Keno, and Instant Kiwi.

Under the terms of the agreement, Scientific Games will supply its Symphony platform system for the Lotto NZ draw-based games, as well as supply over 1,200 point-of-sale terminals. The suppliers' SG Content Hub will power the Lotto NZ digital aggregation content hub to deliver online games.

Lotto NZ Looks for Growth and Innovation

The New Zealand lottery operator has recently stated it wanted to replace its previous online gaming system. It set several criteria that the new system provider must meet, including supplying integrated state-of-the-art technology with a lottery retail system.

Lotto NZ also stipulated that its new system should have an upgraded online lottery platform and a digital content aggregation hub as they look to the future potential of New Zealand's online gambling market.

State Backed Lottery Contributes to Community

Lotto NZ is a state-operated national lottery and boasts that all of its profits are transferred to the NZ Lottery Grants Board. From there, the Board distributes funds to good causes and activities for the communities of New Zealand.

Since its inception as a state-run lottery in 1987, it is estimated that Lotto NZ has raised more than $5.5 billion in profits which have been directed to activities that benefit the communities of New Zealand.
