DraftKings Promotes Stephanie Sherman to CMO
Global sportsbook DraftKings has appointed Stephanie Sherman as its new Chief Marketing Officer.
Sherman is one of the operator’s first 15 employees. She joined DraftKings in 2013 after it launched as a fantasy sports operator.
Prior to her new role, she worked as the Senior Vice President of Marketing, where she oversaw customer acquisition and direct response marketing.
Sherman led DraftKings’ marketing team through important campaigns such as its premier Super Bowl ad—two 15-second spots—during Super Bowl 55 that drove extremely high in-app engagement. Before joining the company, Sherman worked in the marketing department for VistaPrint.
Commenting on Sherman’s promotion, Matt Kalish, Co-Founder and President of DraftKings North America, referred to Sherman as a driving force of the company’s growth and household name.
As CMO, Sherman will continue to drive growth for the company and oversee brand and agency campaigns, media buying, and influencer strategy.
When I started at DraftKings nine years ago, there was a genuine and collective sense that we were building something special, and zooming out to today, that has been validated more than I could have ever imagined,” Sherman said. “For all the accomplishments we’ve celebrated and adversity we’ve overcome, I take on this new position knowing there is still so much opportunity ahead along with brilliant people ready to deliver.
