Entain Completes the Purchase of Croatian Operator SuperSport
Entain has announced that Entain CEE, its investment arm, has completed the acquisition of the Croatian gaming operator the SuperSport Group. Entain is one of the largest sports betting and gaming groups and comprises many of the industry’s most popular brands including bwin, Coral, Crystalbet, Eurobet, Ladbrokes, Gala, and Foxy Bingo.
SuperSport is the largest sports and gaming operator in Croatia and its brand in the region accounts for a 50 percent market share.
Entain CEE was set up in August when Entain partnered with EMMA Capital as a vehicle to drive investment into the gaming industry in the Central and Eastern European (CEE) region. This is when it was announced that Entain CEE was proposing to purchase SuperSport.
The Entain CEE platform has actually been led by the CEO of SuperSport, Radim Haluza, due to his considerable experience in the Eastern European markets.
The acquisition of SuperSport is one of the first steps for the Entain CEE investment vehicle because its ultimate aim is growth throughout the CEE gaming market worth an estimated €5 billion.
