The ribbon-cutting ceremony officially marked the facility's opening and warmly invited players to partake in the gaming offerings.

The approval for the temporary facility was granted during the December 21, 2022, meeting of the Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission. Simultaneously, construction commenced on the permanent casino, which will be situated on the former Wishbones property off Highway 81.

Originally planned to open in March, the temporary facility faced delays until May, when Caesars Entertainment and its local investors received all the necessary regulatory approvals for the June opening. Now, visitors can indulge in thrilling gaming experiences at Columbus Casino until the anticipated grand opening of the Harrah's Columbus, NE Racing & Casino.

The upcoming Harrah's Columbus, NE Racing & Casino, developed in partnership with Columbus Exposition and Racing, promises an array of exciting features.

The casino will boast the longest thoroughbred racetrack in Nebraska, a spacious 28,000-square-foot casino area housing over 500 slot machines and 14 table games, and a state-of-the-art sportsbook.

Earlier visualizations presented by Caesars showcased a delightful dining experience through The Brew Brothers, a restaurant brand founded by the Carano family in 1995, and a bar named Wishbones, which pays tribute to a beloved event district in the city. Additionally, the adjacent Marriot Fairfield Inn and Townplace Suites, connected via a convenient walkway, will provide top-notch hospitality for casino guests.

Construction work on the highly anticipated Harrah's Columbus, NE Racing & Casino is already underway, with expectations of welcoming its first customers in the first half of 2024. Excitement is building among residents and visitors alike as they eagerly await the launch of this premier entertainment destination in Columbus, Nebraska.
