Hacksaw Gaming Receives First US License

Hacksaw Gaming, the popular mobile-first iGaming developer, has announced that it has received a provisional license in the US state of West Virginia.

The company’s CEO, Marcus Cordes, has said that the license marks the start of “a significant expansion” into the US. It is Hacksaw Gaming’s first US license, but earlier this year, the company was able to enter the North American market when it received a license in Ontario.

The company is now hoping to go live in the US through its partnership with Light & Wonder in the first quarter of next year.

This latest expansion comes after our licence approvals in Romania and the Isle of Man earlier in 2022, so we’re finishing the year just as strongly as we started it. Being granted this licence is testimony to the quality of our games portfolio and shows just how robust and engaging our content is.

West Virginia’s regulated iGaming industry has been performing well in recent months. Operators in the state saw a 60% increase in October year-on-year and this followed a 12% increase in September.

Christine Bordeaux, Hacksaw’s SVP of Compliance North America, added, “We have an exciting strategy for the US and our team is focused on delivering yet more excellent and memorable products to delight that market.”

Hacksaw Gaming is behind several popular slots, instant win games and scratch cards. The company’s titles can be found in more than 18 regulated markets and they also provide an iGaming platform to a number of operators.
