Hellenic Gambling Commission Awards Altenar B2B License
Altenar, the provider of sportsbook and iGaming software, has been awarded a B2B license by the Hellenic Gambling Commission (HGC), allowing it to increase its presence in European regulated markets.

At present, its products are available in more than 50 regulated markets, including the UK, Malta, and Canada, and its new license will allow it to offer its services in Greece for the next seven years.

The industry has been flourishing, and this year, after a recent tax hike, revenues from gambling activities are expected to soar to €540,000,000. This robust growth highlights the positive impact of regulatory changes on the gambling landscape in Greece.

Zacharopoulou explained that a significant portion of the team at Altenar is Greek and as such, receiving the HGC license feels like a homecoming. She also highlighted the strong connection between Greece and games of chance, “evident in the popularity of gambling in ancient times and the presence of deities like Tyche”.
Finally, Zacharopoulou added that the Greek license not only demonstrates the company’s commitment to fairness and transparency but also positions it to make the most of the country’s expanding market.
