IGT Teams Up with National Lottery to Power the Malta Lottery
International Game Technology (IGT), the lottery and gaming services provider, has signed a long-term deal with National Lottery Plc, a subsidiary of IZI Group and the operator of the state lottery in Malta. IGT has also entered into an arrangement to print instant tickets for a lottery game in another 10-year deal that will run until 2032.
IGT boasts a world-class solution in lottery technology and retail services and is the preferred provider for eight out of ten of the largest lotteries in the world.
Both parties have combined to introduce an extra day of the LOTTO game, as this is the most successful game run by National Lottery Plc.
There are also plans to launch two new games into the lottery market in Malta, called Pick 3 and Super 5 4-3-2-1. This innovation signals the first new games in ten years for lottery players in the region.
In a shake-up to the instant range of lottery games, IGT and National Lottery plan to expand the offering and will attempt to double the size of the retailer network.
IGT's extensive experience with achieving significant sales growth for leading lotteries such as National Lottery plc made it an ideal partner for re-establishing Malta's National Lottery. In addition to its sophisticated lottery product portfolio, IGT's responsible approach to innovation and sustainable growth aligns with the Lottery's vision of providing unique gaming entertainment. We are very impressed with what IGT has been able to accomplish for us in such a short time and look forward to further enhancing the player experience over the next 10 years.
Jay Gendron, the Chief Operating Officer Global Lottery at IGT, said. "National Lottery plc and IGT had an ambitious, seven-month timeline to complete a comprehensive lottery system implementation and deploy new equipment throughout Maltese retailers, […] Our technology, along with new draw-based games and features, went live in record time and on schedule.“
